#monopfx: Best pedalboards of July 2022

The month of July has been fantastic, and we’re glad to see so many gigs and tours taking place. And with so many musical acts to inspire you, what is going on with your pedalboard? What new effects pique your interest? Or perhaps you’ve changed it up completely to chase after your new musical inspiration?

Whatever your reasons are for dropping by, come join us as we take a look at some of our favorite pedalboards from the month of July.

The Lite Heavyweights

Do you believe that less is more? Musicians that belong to this camp turn to boards like our Pedalboard Lite to keep things trim on their tone hunt. No extra baggage is allowed here — every effect unit counts.

Adam Miller is back at it again with a new light and compact #monopfx build. Rocking the essentials but still have options to switch it up.

Pedals on this build include the Vemuram Jan Ray, Free The Tone SOV-2, Chase Bliss Audio MOOD, and the Strymon Flint.

All in all, we absolutely adore this combination and how tightly it fits on the Pedalboard Lite. Follow Adam Miller on Instagram to find his upcoming tour dates!

Pedalboard Classics

For the players that want the essentials and a little more. Here are our favorite Small and Medium builds of the month.

Finally, another Pedalboard Carbon build to add to the list. We’re always looking forward to how effects are being placed on our flat boards. Pedal configurations are almost endless and sometimes playing pedal-Tetris is the only way to fit all the effects you need on a flat surface. In this instance, ‘Do Noise’ went with the traditional pedal arrangement.

The signal chain on this #monopfx features the Source Audio Ultrawave, Alexander Pedals Syntax Error 2, Pladask Elektrisk Fabrikat, Fairfield Circuitry Shallow Water, Keeley Electronics Eccos, Source Audio Ventris, and finally going into the Line 6 HX Stomp.

We love the choice of having stereo and mono pedals on a compact board, allowing for a smaller footprint with topmost tonal flexibility.

Alex Gutierrez sure knows his way around a comprehensive #monopfx build. What’s great about this board is the cohesiveness of pedal colors that tie together nicely for a cool overall aesthetic.

A closer look at his Pedalboard Small reveals a dual Strymon setup – the Timeline and the BigSky. Alex seems to be a big fan of JHS and Walrus Audio, so you will find two JHS Kilts (V1 and V2) and the Walrus Audio Deepsea and Juliana.

What’s not to love about Chris Cochran’s Pedalboard Medium? Loaded with some of the most highly-acclaimed effects, this #monopfx is an absolute showstopper. Oh, and don’t get us started on those beautiful Tone King amps.

Chris keeps his build simple with no whacky, out-of-this-world effects. Instead, he went with a more traditional analog approach, choosing pedals like the Kingsley Harlot and Page which are two incredible sounding tube-driven pedals. Other notable pedals include the latest effects from Universal Audio – the Astra, Starlight and Golden. To top it all off, pedals from Analogman, Rockett Pedals, JHS and Fulltone also made it onto the board.

We can only dream of the tones coming out of that 35W dual amp setup.
