#monopfx: Best pedalboards of May 2023

Are there any new effects that have caught your attention? Or maybe you’ve completely revamped your setup in pursuit of your newfound musical inspiration?

Whatever brings you here, we invite you to join us as we explore a selection of our favorite pedalboards from the month of May.

Pedalboard Classics

For the players that want the essentials and a little more. Here are our favorite Small and Medium builds of the month.

Ishan Cooper is definitely an expert when it comes to creating an impressive #monopfx build. One of the notable aspects of his board is the harmonious blend of pedal colors, which adds to its overall cool aesthetic.

This #monopfx build is undoubtedly an unconventional one. A closer look at his Pedalboard Small reveals an ampless setup with the help of the Universal Audio FX Dream. Other notable pedals include the Source Audio C4 Synth, the Thorpy Fallout Cloud, the Chase Bliss Audio Tonal Recall, the Strymon Cloudburst and finally, a very mouthwatering dual Analogman setup – the Bi-Comp and the King of Tone.

We have yet to hear what this #monopfx can do, but know that things are about to get heavy!

There’s just something about this #monopfx build that screams resilience and a story of countless adventures. It bears the marks of a true road warrior, a testament to the numerous performances, and unforgettable moments it has witnessed. The folks at Gitrig Customs have also managed to design and construct an impressive pedalboard setup despite its roadworn appearance.

The HX Effects serves as the core of the #monopfx build, delivering versatile effects and tones. Pedals like the TC Helicon Critical Mass, Zoom A3, EHX Mel9, and 68 Pedals Eternity enhance the sonic palette of the overall build.

This battle-scarred #monopfx build has got all kinds of mojo!

Go big or go home

Big isn’t always better, but big is always big — and sometimes very epic. That’s what the Pedalboard Large is for.

We can only imagine the sonic atmosphere created by the abundant reverb and delay effects on Hideki “yoda” Suematsu’s impressive Pedalboard Large.

The meticulous arrangement of pedals and the practicality of this #monopfx are simply awe-inspiring. This board boasts a lineup of effects, including the BOSS RV-5, RV-6, DD-500, DD-3, Mad Professor Super Black, Earthquaker Devices Hoof, Earthquaker Devices Afterneath, Earthquaker Devices The Warden, ProCo Rat, Strymon Flint, and the Walrus Audio Slö.

Don’t forget to follow @monoofjapan for updates on their upcoming tour dates this year. And if you’re fortunate enough to witness the sheer magnitude of tones emanating from this extraordinary pedalboard, be sure to tag us at @monocreators!
