And just like that, we’re almost halfway through 2021. This month has seen a whole assortment of new pedal releases and we can’t wait to plug some of them into pedalboards for our next jam session.
Interested to see if any brand new effects made into the list? Read on as we feature some of the best pedals pictures from May 2021.
The Lite Heavyweights
Do you believe that less is more? Musicians that belong to this camp turn to boards like our Pedalboard Lite to keep things trim on their tone hunt. No extra baggage allowed here — every effect unit counts.
This one’s a repost worth sharing because Mark Johnston is an ambient wizard who’s also formidable with a camera.
Starting us off with a Pedalboard Lite in Black, this immaculately manicured board features a number of stellar pedals on and around the board. Notable effects include the Chase Bliss Thermae and Blooper, a Walrus Audio ACS1, a Cooper FX Generation Loss, a Quiet Theory Prelude, a Benson Preamp, a Fairfield Circuitry Meet Maude, and a Neunaber Immerse.
Pedalboard Classics
For the players that want the essentials and a little more. Here are our favorite Small and Medium builds of the month.
Arkie Alphita has an entry that isn’t quite pocket-sized but just comes under the weight limit to make it a mighty convenient porta-board. We also adore the sweet caption addressed to his daughter – though we hope she doesn’t go asking about the cost of his really cool pedal collection. On display are the Origin Effect’s Cali76, GFI System’s Secular Tempus & Synesthesia, Land Devices’ HP-2, Chase Bliss’ MOOD, and Studio Daydream’s KCM-OD Gold V9.0 (Extremely Tuned Version). Sometimes great pedalboards don’t come cheap.
It is recording time with Miguel Morales and we just love the composition of his flay lay studio photo. We’re also really digging the choice of pedals on his board – a nice mixture of classic and new school effects. A Walrus Audio Voyager, Selah Effects Scarlett Love, AMT Electronics LLM-2, Crowther Audio Hot Cake, JHS Pedal’s Double Barrel, and a Strymon Timeline are just some of the select pedals that power this very versatile board.
Go big or go home
Big isn’t always better, but big is always big — and sometimes very epic. That’s what the Pedalboard Large is for.
Here’s a pedalboard that is loud in more ways than one. Featuring a plethora of pedals with custom art, Adam Bosse’s pedalboard is a quirky collection that wouldn’t be amiss in an art gallery. Feast your eyes upon handpainted versions of the Jam Pedals’ Delay Llama Xtreme and Zvex Sonar Tremolo. We’ve also chanced upon a rare sighting of two Red Noise Pedals Switch Glitch switchers, a Devi Ever Soda Meiser fuzz, and a Death By Audio Total Sonic Annihilation feedback looper.
